Sam , 8/23/2007 9:32:00 PM quotes the New Testament. Apparently, just about anything goes, as long as you don't point out Aish's weaknesses.
Not to be outdone, Anonymous, 8/23/2007 8:59:00 AM quotes "Confucianism or another Eastern religion."
And finally (for now) Yehudis , 8/22/2007 9:17:00 PM asks, "Is it really the rabbis fault that she isn't married?" I can't answer for the author, but I can say that the "outreach" "rabbi's" who do precious little outreach won't be able to plead ignorance on Judgment Day.

You can’t answer for the author but you can answer for G-d?
You know what will be on Judgment Day?
All you do is complain about Aish’s imperfections. What about yours?
If you are so great, how come other men can find Jewish wives, even without Aish’s help, and you can’t?
Shabbat shalom,
Alexis
I never said I was so great.

Best posting of yours to date :)
And perhaps herein lies the read problem.
If one looks at the comments on their site, it is obvious that this issue is about more than just one or two disgruntled people. In fact, after a lengthy (and nasty) e-mail exchange with an Aisher that will be the subject of a future post hopefully, it has pretty much been conceded that NOT ONE BT marriage has happened at Aish St. Louis this century. There, my friends, and Alexis, lies the problem!

That is clearly not true.
But more importantly, how many times must you be told, Aish is an educational organization, it is not a matchmaking service.
You know Alexis, I, unlike Aish, have a pretty open policy torard commentators, but you're pushing it. I know you're trying to be cute, but you're failing miserably. Just last week, I had a heated debate with an Aish "rebitzen" who at the end of the discussion could not name ONE BT couple married through Aish-St. Louis this century. I know you're a know-it-all, but if you think you know more more than the people who endured it, by all means name names. You won't be able to. And unlike the rebitzen, do it here, in the comments forum, because I want to drive that point home publicly.
BTW, if Aish is an outreach organization, they have to be involved in shiduchim, otherwise people will lose interest in a celibate lifestyle of learning. Either that, or they will choose the real ascetic experience, and become monks instead.
To get your next comment through moderation, Alexis, I want names of BT couples married through Aish-St. Louis this century, or a mea culpa. Otherwise. we can assume you don't know any, because they didn't happen. At most, I can think of one possibility, and for an "outreach" organization serving a community of 50,000 Jews, that's despicable.
Anyway "educational organization" IS NOT accurate. They set up shules in many commnunities as well.
After all, what is the point of only having study but no services?
Look at NYC for example that whole community shule thing that they have going there, now a day school is starting as well.
Rabbi's that (non -big aish) I know are very involved in Shiduchim. Big time.
So I feel that AA's point is very well taken.
Even in places where they only do
Alexis,
When naming names, use the first initial followed by #'s for each letter. For example, Babe Ruth would be B### R###. There are so few possibilities, I should be able to figure out about whom you're talking. On the off chance I need help, I'll e-mail you.
Your bluff's been called.
Welcome back Frummie! I'm glad we didn't lose you and your insights during our change of management.

Thank you Alexis.
